employees during closure of companies by making specific case study reviews of JL Morison and
Kingfisher Airlines Pvt Ltd. This is an attempt to analyze the status of labour and the problems
associated with developing a viable ―exit policy‖ consistent with economic logic and sensitive to
the human and social dimensions of change. The existing legislations related to industrial closures
with relevant provisions which offers hope for employment security have been identified post
literature survey. The rationale behind selecting these specific legislations is post legislative analysis
and literature survey it was found that there exists a ground for development of exclusive policy
framework for labour restructuring, rehabilitation and employment security. Therefore the research
will be exploratory in nature dealing with cross-sectional data to make inference from the examples
chosen for study. This study involves data from primary sources, information with regards to the
specific cases of JL Morison and Kingfisher Airlines, talking to legal experts and also interviewing
the affected employees of these companies. The description of setting is Bangalore city. Through the
findings of this study, a significant outcome would be the identification and realization of potential
legislative alternatives in the form of policy using relevant provisions of the identified legislations
based upon empirically proven qualitative and quantitative evidence. |
