dc.description.abstract For this study, the dissertation has been divided into six chapters, each focusing on a specific aspect of the research topic; Chapter 1 provides an overview of the cybercrime landscape in India, examining definitions, prevalence, and the importance of digital evidence. Chapter 2 provides insights into the prevalent types of cybercrimes and the prevalent methods which are being used by cybercriminals. Chapter 3 explains the digital forensics processes and evidence collection processes of Indian law enforcement agencies, after that chapter 4 has analysed the current legal framework with respect to digital evidence in India and highlights the gaps and challenges furthermore Chapter 5 examines the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023( Herein after referred as BSA,2023), comparing it with the previous legal framework and international standards lastly Chapter 6 provides the conclusion and findings of the research. en_US
