dc.description.abstract The dissertation thesis is an attempt to shed light on the approach of land-titling as an alternate policy for slum redevelopment in India. The thesis will aim to take a departure from the prevailing notion of land-titling for housing improvements, elucidate more on the economic and entrepreneurial needs that can be catered through via land-titling. It is an attempt to root the basics of capitalism for the development of slum enterprise and will aim to show how investment and access to credit can foster economic development. Furthermore, the thesis will also highlight how land-titling can be important for the process of urban transformation, while initially introducing the readers to the limitation of the current planning discourse. en_US
