ABSTRACT
Prostitution is an age old profession which has been seen as a plot on the face
of the society. Societ I disregard and legal negligence ha cam ed spurt in the
number of prostitut s in India. With children and we men being used as
commodities by the ~affickers, it is high time that we re runk our outlook on
the legal and societal aspects of prostitution. The pres( nt study 1S a
representative study )f the perspectives of the modern youth with regards to
legalization of prosti!Ution. With majority of the respon~ents supporting the
legalization, it is imperative for the policy makers to co~e dbwn from their
ivory tower and give ¥ue credence to the society's views.
